venice movies - buskers, shoppers and gondoliers

This is the third time we have heard buskers play 'I did it my way' in Italy. We heard it played by a string trio in Piazza Navona and by a solo violinist somewhere in Roma.  I fear our donation will encourage this chap, near the Rialto markets, to play it again!

Hugh was captivated by Murano glass ornaments that have a goldfish in a solid glass bowl. Here he is, with help, selecting the exact one he wanted. If you can imagine something in glass, it is here. Superb, kitsch, elegant, grotesque, inspiring, cute and art.

Venice is drowning, sinking into the mud - a consequence of building a city of stone on wooden pylons squished into mud. The gondoliers tip their gondola to negotiate some bridges at high tide, to the alarm of passengers and amusement of spectators.
