This is a description of a school day and the differences between Holland and Australia
Monday:
(day one of school in Holland)
When I was dropped off I was greeted by Elske who is going to be our teacher for the two weeks. We started the day off with a play which was in Dutch. We then went inside and introduced our self buy saying our name age and hobbies. For example…
“Hi my name is Caity.
I am 11 years old
And I love to swim.”
We then had maths and we did the maths that mum gave me. After that we had recess and had a book read to us in English which was good. Then we walked to a playground then to gym where we played three games…
1st: we threw a ball to three people and on the third we throw it over a net and if it bounces you get a point and if they catch it you don`t get a point.
2nd: There is a ball in the middle of a basket ball court there are two team who have tennis balls and you have to roll the balls to knock the ball over the other teams line.
3rd: We did tumbles on mats and springs.
After about an hour of gym we went home for lunch. After lunch we need to be back at school at around 1:15-1:20. We then worked on a poem about our stuffed toy I did mine about Jay-lin. It went a little like this…
Jay-lin Jay-lin you run like the wind
and some day I wish I could win.
Jay-lin Jay-lin you eat like the wind
And one day bamboo will come to an end.
Jay-lin Jay-lin you’re white and furry black soft
Always look tired but never stop.
After we did our poems we played some games and went home!
